Acupuncture Wellness Retreat with The Way Nomad Chapter

About the Retreat:

Here you will experience space for you to understand yourself deeper, see the vast benefits of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine when mixed in your daily life, establish your connection to nature, understand the food that will individually help you thrive and more deeply understand what balance means for your life.

An acupuncture treatment each day, hydrotherapy, constant exposure to the beauty of nature, nourishing food curated to each element and plenty of encouraged time to rediscover and relax.

What you will experience:

  • During your 5 night 6 day stay you will receive an acupuncture treatment each full day (4 sessions). A comprehensive consultation will be provided by a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine to begin your care. Focusing on the root of your imbalance, Traditional Chinese Medicine uncovers “the why” this is happening in your body. Each treatment will then be guided by your diagnosis, moving your body back into its balanced state. Receiving 4 acupuncture treatments in a row will come with some profound shifts in the body.

  • You will explore and become acquainted with the 5 Constitutional Elements - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Each element is connected to a different organ in Chinese Medicine. Understanding your diagnosis and your constitutional element will provide you with knowledge of why you are out of balance and the actionable steps you can take to shift. These elements allow you to better understand yourself, those around you and instill a greater knowledge of how you can feel optimal. During your individual sessions you will understand which element you fall most in line with. Throughout the retreat there will be 5 element infused pieces to help you connect and understand each element more deeply.

  • The core teachings of Chinese Medicine are based upon our connection to nature. There is empowerment when you are noticing both the subtle and large shifts of each season and how this influences our bodies ever changing needs. Dive into the feeling your body has when the moon is full. Explore how your body deals with different temperatures and textures. Uncover which places make you feel the most alive and abundant - forests, oceans, mountains, sand. Carved out time to just be and experience your body and what brings it joy is a pinnacle part of the experience.

  • The exposure to hydrotherapy is a deeply healing process. Water itself has a powerful essence. Using different temperatures supplies the body with a catalyst to rehabilitation. It benefits the circulatory system, nervous system and endocrine system. Hydrotherapy stimulates blood flow, calms the mind, releases toxins, reduces inflammation and stress, boosts mood and supports tissue repair. La Joya has an aromatic steam, sauna, cold plunge and salt water pool.

Rose:

I have always had a deep passion for supporting others and a pure fascination with our bodies capacity to heal. Through many blessings I was able to get my undergrad in Kinesiology and my Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Being able to follow my dreams and awaken the fire inside of me has been a product of an army of individuals. I honour that now I can give back to them and many others. My practice is centered around Traditional Chinese Medicine and all that it encompasses - acupuncture, chinese herbal medicine, auricular acupuncture, acupressure, dietary and lifestyle advice, and cupping to name a few. I am here to support, educate, share knowledge and listen. I believe in our connection to our bodies innate wisdom and the power of nature.I look forward to being part of the team that awakens the fire within you. *Other credentials: Bachelors in Kinesiology, Mentoring Doctor to TCM practicum students,  4 years as a CAAA Exam Committee Member and Examiner, Item Writer for the Pan Canadian Exam for Acupuncturists, Owner of The Way Holistic Collective.*
